A Year (and a Half) in Review

It's been a moment since we have provided a blog update, but we've had a very successful year and a half in operations.

A few of the fun things since May 2023:

June: Janie, one of our most popular resident, had a wonderful birthday, with all the men taking a group photo around her, wearing leis and acknowledging her as the Queen of the house!

July: We had a wonderful 4th of July event, and Mike, one of our residents, whose birthday happens to be on 7/5, enjoyed 2 types of cakes for the event; a birthday and a Fourth of July cake.

October: We had a wonderful Halloween event, and we had the caregivers' kids join in on passing candies and gift bags, as well as trick or treating around the neighborhood; which means hot chocolates, face painting, and other events in the garage area.

November: Thanksgiving is a big deal in SVHC household becuase it's the epitome of what it means to enjoy the holidays with the family. We had the Whole Foods whole shebang with Turkey, pies, mashed potatoes, and all the special fixings that make Thanksgiving special for the residents and the caregiver hosts.

December: Christmas is a holiday where you appreciate all the special caregivers that make our group home successful. We had a luncheon with catered Island foods. The residents and the caregivers were given special Sweet Valley Home Care shirts as gifts.

January: New Year's Eve is also a special time for the SVHC household. In addition, we celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with balloons, cakes and Hawaiian food.

February: It's a special month as Chantell, our manager's birthday, as well as Ruben's birthday. Cakes and gatherings galore. We always celebrate all resident and caregiver birthdays and always find any excuse to party!

May: May 1st is May Day. It's a special day for the Hawaiian caregivers we have on staff, and there is nothing better than having a mini-Luau spread and a live Hula Dancer for some of the residents can learn some dance moves that are easy on the hips!
